Alcohol abuse can range from unhealthy drinking habits, to drinking every day, or binge drinking. When one abuses alcohol, they continue to drink even though it may be causing problems in their life.

In one’s social life, alcohol abuse can cause issues within the family, employment issues, legal problems such as driving while intoxicated, violence, and loss of productivity.

Alcohol abuse can also be dangerous to the mind and body. Liver diseases, hypertension, increased risk of some forms of cancer, gastrointestinal issues, and psychiatric challenges such as depression and anxiety are just a few of the many effects. If alcohol abuse is left untreated, it could possibly lead to alcohol dependence.
